Otrokovice
In the Middle Age Otrokovice was a part of Malenovice estate, later it was sold to Napajedla estate. At that time there were a well-known fortress and a castle pond, however only cellars remained till present time. Otrokovice experienced a big boom when Tomáš Baťa built an industrial buiding and apartment buildings Baťov. Today, the most famous companies are Barum and Agro – Mitas.
Behind Otrokovice town is a vacation water spot Štěrkáč, a wide forest and the river Morava’s harbor. There is the possibility of getting on ships going on the Baťa Canal. Baťa Canal and a parallel cycle route is a popular tourist attraction. Nearby is a historic medieval fortress Kurovice with lots of cultural events..
